August 2009, English Journalの2nd interviewは宮沢賢治の’英訳もなさっているRoger Pulversさんが取り上げられています。聞けばなるほどと思うのですが，自分で気づくことができるかどうかということはあるのでしょう。抜粋したところだけではなく，雨ニモ負ケズ（英訳は"Strong in the Rain"なんですね。今回初めて知りました）が示している精神性に関する内容も興味深く聴きました。
And now, in our century, when we are first coming to terms with the truth that we have to live in harmony with other animals -- we can't go on destroying and using and exploiting resources and living things and, you know, also mountains and whatever. Miyazawa Kenji a hundred years ago was saying this at a time when no one in Japan, well, no one in the world, let alone Japan, had any consciouness that, uh, of the human being as a part, as a part of creation -- not at the top; just another element in creation.
