Balance

　今月のEJも今日で終わることができました。オバマ氏とクリントン氏の出馬スピーチが入っていたからか，全体的に聞きやすい素材が多かったなという印象を持っています。
　BBC Newsでは，季節が逆転している南半球のチリから，北半球のイギリスに対して輸入される農作物についての話題がありました。
・南半球からの農作物を購入することで現地経済を支えている
・一方で，輸送に要するエネルギーが環境破壊の原因となっている
この両者のバランスをどう取るかという課題が提示されていました。日本の場合は食料の輸入率がイギリスよりも大きいですから，この問題の持つ意味は，日本にとってより大きいんだと思います。

There has to be a balance between caring for the environment, social responsibility and economic growth of a well developing country.

For some that's enough to say we shouldn't buy produce from places like this, but it is clear that if we make that environmenta choice the consewuences for the people here could be disastrous.
